Ms. Burrows has been with the Law Offices of George A. Barton since October 2007, and since then has consistently demonstrated to her ability to effectively represent clients in various areas of the law in a fashion consistent with attorneys with years’ more experience. As an attorney practicing complex litigation, Ms. Burrows has had many major accomplishments over the last few years.
First, Ms. Burrows recently represented her clients as lead counsel in two wrongful death cases in which she was able to resolve for her clients far beyond anyone’s expectations. Secondly, Ms. Burrows has had a major role as co-lead counsel in numerous complex oil and gas class action cases, which often include fierce discovery disputes and extensive motion practice regarding various complex substantive legal and factual issues. Third, she is currently co-lead counsel in a complicated trespass case in the U.S. District Court of Colorado, where she recently obtained class certification status for a group of hundreds of landowners who had asserted trespass claims against a large oil and gas company. Finally, Ms. Burrows was vital in obtaining summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against FedEx Ground Package System, Inc. in a case centered on FedEx’s misclassification of its pick-up and delivery drivers as independent contractors under Missouri law. Once summary judgment was awarded to the plaintiffs, as co-lead counsel, Ms. Burrows successfully prosecuted plaintiffs’ claims for fraudulent misrepresentation against FedEx in a three-week jury trial. In addition to these instances listed above, Ms. Burrows has provided valuable leadership, assistance, and teamwork on dozens of other cases at our firm, resulting in favorable outcomes for many clients.
Ms. Burrows has volunteered countless hours as an active board member of the Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyers Section for many years and continues to volunteer as the a board member for the Kansas Bar Association CLE committee. She has also volunteered for and remains as a board member for the National American University Paralegal Studies program.
