George A. Barton

Since graduating from law school in 1977, George Barton has focused on representing clients in complex business litigation cases in numerous jurisdictions throughout the United States, including significant cases in California,  Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, and North Carolina.

For the last thirty years, Mr. Barton has devoted the majority of his practice to representing royalty owners in substantial royalty underpayment litigation against coal producers and oil and gas producers, including cases prosecuted in Arkansas, Colorado, Kentucky, Missouri, New Mexico, North Dakota and West Virginia. His experience includes successfully representing royalty owners in cases tried to a jury, and in subsequent appeals of those decisions. He has represented royalty owners in both individual cases and in class actions against numerous oil and gas producers, resulting in recoveries of more than 150 million dollars for his clients.
